Antenatal care is the care that you receive from a health professional during your pregnancy.
To ensure you get the tailored care you need throughout your pregnancy, it is important that you contact your GP as soon as possible.
You'll be offered a series of appointments with a midwife or sometimes an Obstetrician, who will check you and your baby are well, provide you with important information and answer any questions you may have.
You will then be appointed a named midwife who will support you throughout your pregnancy and will ensure you receive continuity of care.
