Antenatal care is the care that you receive from a health professional during your pregnancy.

To ensure you get the tailored care you need throughout your pregnancy, it is important that you contact your GP as soon as possible.

You'll be offered a series of appointments with a midwife or sometimes an Obstetrician, who will check you and your baby are well, provide you with important information and answer any questions you may have.

You will then be appointed a named midwife who will support you throughout your pregnancy and will ensure you receive continuity of care.

Community Midwives

Community Midwives are available 8.30am-4.30pm daily.

Call 01793 604020 and ask for bleep 1583 or the 'Community bleepholder'.

Outside of these times, in an emergency please ask for the 'Maternity Unit Bleepholder'.

A 24-hour on call midwife is available for home births.
