To maintain social distancing, all hospital patients who require a blood test will now need to make an appointment.
If you arrive without an appointment, arrangements will be made for you to return at a later time/date.
Patients with a blood test request from their GP must attend their own surgery for that test (including those who have attended the hospital for an x-ray).
Unless the GP has requested a specialised test (if so, we will need to know what the test is), then your surgery must contact us.
Patients who are being monitored by the Anti-coagulation Clinic will also need to attend their own surgery.
Adult patients must attend on their own (please contact us if you need to be accompanied by a carer or require special assistance).
Children
Children under the age of 16 will be seen by our phlebotomists.
They may be accompanied by one parent or guardian (please contact us if they need special assistance).
Some children under the age of three years may need to have the procedure undertaken in the Paediatric Department (we can decide this at the time of booking).
All children under the age of 16 will need to book an appointment before attending.
