Neptune Ward is currently being used to treat patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Location

Great Western Hospital - Fourth Floor (please see Floor plan).

Visiting

Day Times
Every day 10.00am-8.00pm

To enable our patients to get the amount of rest they need to assist them in their recovery, we operate a strict policy for visiting.

For the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff, we ask that you restrict visitors to two adults per bed and that children remain supervised at all times.

Visiting outside of normal hours can be arranged at the discretion of the nurse in charge and will be dependent on both the wishes and condition of the patient.

The ward supports 'protected meal times', and so it is closed to visitors at these times.

Meal times

  • Breakfast: 8.00am-8.30am
  • Lunch: 12.00pm-2.00pm
  • Evening meal: 5.30pm-6.30pm

Contact and feedback

Main desk: 01793 604780

Patients, families and their carers have access to a dedicated phone line on each ward for direct communication; the phone can be taken to the patient's bedside - please ask a member of staff for details.

We ask that one member of the family conveys information to other family members, to avoid several calls to the ward.

If you or your family have any concerns, anxieties or suggestions regarding your hospital stay, please do not hesitate to speak first to the nurse in charge of the shift at that time.

If you do not feel that your concerns or anxieties have been resolved, please ask to speak to the Senior Sister.

We welcome constructive criticism as this helps us to improve both the environment and the service we provide to patients, relatives and carers.
