Our Maternity Services have been assessed by the Care Quality Commission 2009 as having high standards of antenatal care and safety which means we work to ensure you receive the safest level of care at all times.
Ensuring that your baby is safe and secure is extremely important to us and we operate an intercom system to allow access to all our units as well as an electronic tagging system for babies (born in the Delivery Suite at Great Western Hospital) for your peace of mind.
Hazel Ward
Due to the nature of the ward, it is a secure unit. All visitors to the ward need to use the intercom system on the wall outside the door to gain access.
Please ensure that all visitors know the full name of the person they are visiting, otherwise access may be denied.
Electronic baby tagging is in operation on Hazel Ward.
All babies when delivered wear a tag around their ankle and an alarms sound if a baby is near any ward exits and staff are alerted to which entrance to ensure security for our babies.
Delivery Suite
The Delivery Suite is a high secure unit.
Electronic baby tagging is in operation on the Delivery Suite and all babies will receive a tag around their ankle after birth.
