The aim of the Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy Screening (IDPS) Programme is to ensure that women with hepatitis B, HIV and syphilis are identified early in pregnancy.

All pregnant women should be offered screening for all three conditions.

The programme is an essential component of strategies to prevent mother to child transmission of hepatitis B, HIV and syphilis.

Early detection helps treat mum and protect baby.
