The Unit provides close monitoring and high-dependency care for a variety of cardiac conditions.

This includes the emergency management of heart attacks and the immediate and long term management of other cardiac conditions, including heart failure and heart arrhythmias.

We also look after patients who need close monitoring following procedures undertaken in our Cardiac Catheter Suite, such as:

  • Angiograms
  • Angioplastys
  • Pacemaker insertions

We work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams across the hospital but work particularly closely with colleagues from the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team and the Cardiac Catheter Suite.

Location

Great Western Hospital - first floor (please follow the signs to the Wiltshire Cardiac Centre).

Contact

Tel: 01793 604252 or 01793 604253

Patients, families and their carers have access to a dedicated phone line on each ward for direct communication; the phone can be taken to the patient's bedside - please ask a member of staff for details.

We ask that one member of the family conveys information to other family members, to avoid several calls to the ward.
