Great Western Hospital has two accredited Changing Places Toilets that are publicly listed on the Changing Places Consortium website. The rooms are clearly signed as ‘Changing Places Toilet’ with the CPT logo.
One is located in the Children’s Unit on 2nd Floor and is freely accessible (i.e. no RADAR key required) to children under the age of 18 who need to use it.
The other is located in the Urgent Treatment Centre for use by either adults or children who need to use it. This one requires a RADAR key to open it. Most users of Changing Places Toilet facilities will carry their own RADAR key, but in an emergency. the UTC Reception carries a RADAR key.
As per advice of the Changing Places Consortium, users of these facilities are advised to carry their own sling (for the ceiling hoist) when visiting these toilets for health and safety reasons.
