You will be referred to our department either by your dentist or GP, and will attend an outpatient appointment.

If you need surgery, a clinician will decide the most appropriate anaesthesia and the location.

Local anaesthetic surgery is carried out in one of our six surgeries, and outpatient general anaesthetic cases are carried out in our theatre within the department.

We have a recovery area for these cases.

Patients requiring inpatient surgery are admitted to Meldon Ward, which is a dedicated surgical ward.

Patients who are referred urgently are seen within two weeks and those requiring a biopsy will have this done on the first visit, with the result one week later.
