Within our Maternity Services, we offer patients the chance to get involved in Clinical Research Studies.

We want to continuously improve the care we provide to ensure that it is current, and research based. We only participate in studies that have been approved ethically with important questions which need to be answered.

We have two Research Midwives who are funded by the NIHR, National Institute for Health and Care Research | NIHR. The team support the midwives, doctors and the wider multi-disciplinary team to undertake relevant studies with the goal of improving patient care.

If we have any ongoing studies we may approach you by letter, email, text or in person if you are eligible to participate.

All participation in research is totally voluntary, you do not have to take part if you do not wish to. You will be given plenty of information about a study both verbally and in writing. You will be given time to consider the options and to ask any questions you may have before you decide if you would like to be involved.

Please inform your community midwife if you do not wish to be contacted.
