Assessing fitness to drive

All patients with ICDs or CRT-Ds have restrictions on driving imposed by the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency).

They cannot drive after receiving a shock from their defibrillator.

We will need to assess you in Pacing Clinic to assess why you received a shock, and if it was appropriate, and this will dictate how long you must refrain from driving.
