Jupiter Ward

Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates

Services are being continually re-assessed and amended.

Please see Patients and visitors: Coronavirus (COVID-19) and be aware of the latest Visitor guidance shown there.

Jupiter Ward specialises in treating adult/elderly male and female patients with a variety of conditions.

Great Western Hospital - Fourth Floor (please see Floor plans).

Visiting times are 10.00am-8.00pm.

To enable our patients to get the amount of rest they need to assist them in their recovery, we operate a strict policy for visiting.

For the health and safety of patients, visitors and staff, this includes restricting adults to two per patient, and children must be supervised at all times.

Visiting outside of normal visiting hours can be arranged with the nurse in charge and will be dependent on both the wishes and condition of the patient.

Please do not visit if you have or are recovering from diarrhoea and vomiting or have flu-like symptoms.

Please check with the ward before visiting if you have any other infectious illnesses.

Meal times

  • Breakfast: 7.30am
  • Lunch: 12.15pm
  • Dinner: 5.15pm

There is a choice of menu for every meal time.

For the first 24 hours you will be asked what you would like to eat; after this time you will be able to order your meal from individual printed menu cards; this is done 24 hours in advance.

A hot drink is usually served at each meal time, mid morning and evening.

Water is available at all times.

Concerns and compliments

If you or your family have any concerns, anxieties or suggestions regarding your hospital stay, please do not hesitate to speak first to the nurse in charge of the shift at that time.

If you do not feel that your concerns or anxieties have been resolved, please phone the Senior Sister (please see below).
