Other ways to volunteer

Voluntary Services logo 175As well as the many different ways in which volunteers help within the Trust, there are other ways in which you can help.

Brighter Futures

Brighter Futures is the Trust's charity, which you can support us at events held throughout the year.

To find out more, please see the Brighter Futures website: Volunteer with us (www.brighterfuturesgwh.nhs.uk/support-us/volunteer-with-us/).

Changing Faces

Changing Faces is a charity for people and families who are living with conditions, marks or scars which affect their appearance.

To find out more, please see the Changing Faces website (www.changingfaces.org.uk).

Hospital Radio

Volunteers provide a professional radio service to patients.

Duties include visiting wards for requests, and assisting programme presenters.

Find out more: Hospital Radio Swindon website (www.hospitalradioswindon.org).

Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service provides a hospital escort wheelchair service to patients visiting the hospital for outpatients appointments.

Our volunteers make them feel welcome and comfortable in our lounge before and after appointments.

We also take them to various departments and clinics around the hospital and operate a Home from Hospital service to patients when discharged from hospital.

Our friendly volunteers provide practical and emotional support to help clients get back on their feet, regain their independence and reduce the chance of re-admission.

This service is provided for 8-12 weeks.

If you would like to volunteer with Royal Voluntary Service please contact our Swindon office on 01793 466617 or visit the Royal Voluntary Service website (www.royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk/our-services).
