You will need to give the receptionist or booking clerk your:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Postcode
  • Mobile number
  • Email address

The next time you have an appointment, you will automatically receive a text message or email with a link to the online portal.

Once you click on the link and complete the verification process, you will be able to access your appointment information.

The online portal allows you to:

  • View and download appointment letters
  • View the location of your appointment
  • View important clinical information
  • Add your appointment to your personal calendar
  • Receive appointment reminders
  • Have video consultations with your care team.

Later in the year, it may also be possible for you to request changes to your appointment, receive reminders and view other letters about your care via the portal.

You will need to use a smartphone or another digital device (e.g. tablet or computer) that is connected to the Internet.

If you are not connected to a wi-fi signal, please be aware that data charges may apply.

If you change your mind and no longer want to view your appointment information online, do not click on the link in the text message or email, and you will automatically receive an appointment letter by post.

You can also click on 'Settings' in the online portal and change your preferences to paper letters.

This means you will receive your appointment letters by post in the future, even if you download them online.

At the moment, you will not be able to cancel or reschedule your appointment via the portal.

This service will be available in the future.

For now, you will need to text CANCEL in response to your text message reminder or call the phone number displayed on your digital or paper appointment letter to cancel or reschedule your appointment as you would normally.

The Booking Centre will then contact you to confirm the change.

The online portal ensures that appointment information is never lost, and is easily accessible wherever you are and whenever you need it.

Going paperless means that you are supporting the NHS to be more environmentally friendly.

This service is especially useful for carers and parents because patients can add multiple mobile numbers and email addresses on the online portal to receive text message or email notifications about upcoming appointments.
