We recognise that some people have a disability, sensory loss or impairment which means that they need some assistance with accessing our services, or with obtaining information about them.

We work to the national Accessible Information Standard (AIS), to ensure that all of our patients and carers have access to information that they can understand about the full range of our services.

We can provide information in different formats, where necessary, such as:

  • Braille
  • Large print
  • Easy Read
  • Audio file

The standard also supports people who have a condition that affects their ability to communicate - e.g.:

  • Aphasia
  • Autism
  • Mental health condition

Others might need help with interpreting or translation, or they might need some other kind of help.
