Restrictions on visiting

Posted: March 16, 2020

Special measures to help contain coronavirus (COVID-19)

As part of our plans to help delay the spread of the virus, the Trust is placing some necessary restrictions on visiting, both in hospital and if our community team carries out a home visit.

  • Visiting is restricted to essential visitors only, such as parents of paediatric patients or a patient's main carer.
  • Only one named visitor/birth partner will be allowed into Delivery Suite, Hazel Ward and the White Horse Birth Centre.

The named visitor will not be able to change during a woman's stay.

Women attending with suspected or a confirmed case of COVID-19 will not be able to have any visitors.
  • If you are self-isolating for coronavirus, or if you are symptomatic, please do not enter the hospital.
  • If you have a community appointment, please let us know in advance.

If you are visiting a patient, please practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands more often for 20 seconds, or use hand sanitiser.

We apologise for the inconvenience and we want to say thank you to our local community for supporting us at this time.
