Stop the Pressure Day

Talking about pressure ulcers, also known as pressure sores or bedsores

Pressure ulcers (also known as pressure sores or bedsores) are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue, primarily caused by prolonged pressure on the skin.

They can happen to anyone, but usually affect people confined to bed or who sit in a wheelchair for long periods of time.

Our Tissue Viability Team will be visiting the wards and patient areas with a trolley full of information, goodies and practical tips on how to detect and treat pressure ulcers.

If you're doing some shopping around the Orbital, come along for our drop in sessions from 9.00am to 4.00pm today (Thursday 15 November) at the Orbital Conference Room, where pressure relieving companies and tissue viability nurses will be providing expert advice.

There will also be a quiz and prize draw at the end of the session so don't miss out on this opportunity.
