Nurse recruitment event on Saturday 24 February 2018

The Great Western Hospital is hosting a recruitment day for nurses interested in joining the unique area of healthcare in the Swindon Intermediate Care Centre (SwICC).

The event, which takes place on Saturday 24 February from 10am until 2pm in SwICC, will help nurses find out more about job opportunities and meet the teams working hard to help Swindon's patients get home.

Seeing a patient return home from hospital is a truly rewarding experience and it's just one of the reasons to consider a career with the teams who help people to get back on their feet after illness or injury.

Sometimes patients, especially those who are elderly or with long term conditions, need a little extra help to make sure they have everything they need to live independently in their own home.

Being in hospital and away from family and friends can be really difficult, but it's the work of the intermediate care team to help relieve that anxiety and get patients moving as soon as possible.

Visitors who register for the recruitment event through the NHS Jobs website, using job reference 249-SCH-021806, will also have the chance to land a job interview on the day.

SwICC is a modern 60-bed unit across two wards which specialises in rehabilitation, stroke and complex discharge planning for adults, with the aim that each person is supported to reach their goals.

There are also opportunities for nurses to join the Trust through the Bank, the internal staffing agency which lets employees pick the shifts that work around them and their personal commitments, such as childcare.

Working in the NHS comes with a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, dedicated study time, 27 days annual leave and access to exclusive local and national retail discounts.
