Sexual health walk-in service to be trialled at GWH

Posted: April 7, 2015

New clinic open every Tuesday between 9am and 11am

From today (7 April), a new walk-in clinic for sexual health patients will be available at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

The new service means that people across Swindon and Wiltshire can receive free and confidential sexual health advice and treatment at GWH without having to make an appointment.

Dr Jessica Daniel, Consultant in Sexual Health, said: "We hope this new walk-in clinic will be just as successful as the ones that are already well established at the Carfax Medical Centre in Swindon town centre.

"Having two venues offer walk-in clinics mean that patients now have even more choice when it comes to deciding where to go for matters regarding their sexual health.

"We would encourage anyone who is concerned about their sexual health to visit us. Our staff are really friendly and can offer information, testing, treatment and support to everyone."

Patients can visit the new walk-in clinic, which is running on a three month trial basis at the Great Western Hospital, on Tuesdays between 9am and 11am.

Last year Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust introduced a new website dedicated to providing people with everything they need to know about local sexual health services.

The Swindon Sexual Health website is a one-stop-shop for information on clinics, services and opening times.
