About the roles

We're looking for people with a genuine interest and passion for their local health service.

No experience is necessary - you will receive an induction and training programme.

As part of the Council of Governors, collectively you will have several duties such as:

  • Appointing and, if appropriate, removing the Chair
  • Representing members' views and using these to challenge the Trust Board
  • Deciding the remuneration and other terms and conditions of office of the chair and the other non-executive directors

We usually have about five Council of Governor meetings per year, and optional working groups focusing on patient experience, finance, membership and training for governors to attend.

The time commitment should not be more than one day a month.

For more information, please see Governors.
