Steph Timms took part in the Trust's Return to Practice course
in Children's ED.
Having previously been a qualified nurse in the Special Care
Baby Unit at the Great Western Hospital, Steph decided to take a
break from work to focus on raising her young family.
As her children grew up, she took jobs outside of healthcare but
soon discovered that she missed the buzz of nursing.
After reading about Return to Practice in the local newspaper,
she decided it was time to get back her nursing stripes.
Steph said: "I worked so hard to get my qualification and when I
was doing anything other than nursing, it felt like all that work
had gone to waste.
"I was a bit nervous about putting on the uniform again after
all those years, but everyone on the course was so friendly and

immediately wished I had done it sooner.
"My advice to anyone with a similar sounding story is to just go
for it - you definitely won't regret it."
