Sally Black - Clinical Nurse Specialist

HealthcareAssistant230x325My heart was always set on nursing, even before I had left school.

Fast forward more than forty years and I feel lucky to still be in the job that I not only love, but has given me so many fond memories to look back on.

By its very nature, nursing can be challenging but it's a career like no other and can offer up huge variety and a wealth of opportunities.

From the very beginning, I craved fulfillment and always aspired to take my career to that next level.

In Swindon, I was always encouraged to go further and the practical help and support I received along the way helped me to achieve my goals. I've now been a specialist nurse for more than 30 years.

Working at the Great Western Hospital is a real privilege - the teams here are fantastic and the courage I see from patients and their families on a daily basis never ceases to amaze me.

I have so much respect and admiration for the people I care for and it's their shining personalities, even in the face of difficult situations, that has made this job immensely fun for more than four decades.
