Wren Unit

The Wren Unit provides outpatient services for several specialities including:

  • Plastic Surgery
    • We run clinics and perform minor operations within the unit
    • Dressing clinics are undertaken by our skilled outpatient trained nurses
  • Neurology
    The Neurology team also undertakes botox clinics and provides EMG services within outpatients.
  • Urology
    Clinics provide flow rate assessment and bladder scanning
  • General Surgery
    • Sigmoidoscopy assessment (a procedure where a doctor or nurse looks into the rectum)
    • Sigmoid colon assessment (using an instrument called a sigmoidoscope)
    • Sclerotherapy treatment can be undertaken within the unit
    • This service is also supported by our Specialist Stoma Nurses
  • Vascular Surgery
    • Doppler assessments (a type of ultrasound scan) can be undertaken during clinic consultations, and treatments such as four layer bandaging can be performed in our dressing clinics
    • This service is supported by a Vascular Specialist Nurse
  • Respiratory and Sleep
    Assessments including lung function and spirometry (breathing test) may be performed within the unit
  • Dermatology
    The team provides treatments for a variety of skin conditions, including:
    • Puva
    • Patch testing
    • Surgical procedures

We also have clinics in:

  • Malmesbury
  • Melksham
  • Savernake (Marlborough)
  • Trowbridge
  • Warminster

Facilities

  • Toilets
  • Vending machine for hot and cold drinks and various snacks (sorry, but we are unable to provide change for these machines)

We have a small play area for children, in which children must be supervised at all times.

Day Times
Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.00pm
Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays Closed

Some clinics run outside of these normal opening times.
