Neptune ward

Neptune is a medical ward which specialises in treating adult male and female patients with gastro-intestinal conditions.

The majority of admissions come from the Acute Assessment Unit, with occasional admissions from home or clinics.

It is also common for our patients to be transferred to other wards or units for specialist care or rehabilitation.

Location

Great Western Hospital - Fourth Floor (please see Floor plans).

Visiting

Visiting times are 10.00am-8.00pm, with protected meal times.

To enable our patients to get the amount of rest they need to assist them in their recovery, we operate a strict policy for visiting.

For the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff, we ask that you restrict visitors to two adults per bed and that children remain supervised at all times.

Visiting outside of normal hours can be arranged at the discretion of the nurse in charge and will be dependent on both the wishes and condition of the patient.

Meal times

  • Breakfast: 8.00am-8.30am
  • Lunch: 12.00pm-2.00pm
  • Evening meal: 5.30pm-6.30pm
