Orthotics and Prosthetics

Prosthetics-Physio

The Orthotics and Prosthetics team provides devices that aid rehabilitation or help to maintain or enhance a patient's quality of life.

The team helps patients with a variety of conditions for varying periods of time, from a single appointment to a lifetime of support.

Orthoses are devices used to ease pain, support impaired body parts or are used to prevent conditions getting worse, such as shoes, insoles and joint supports.

Prostheses are used to replace parts of the body that are missing because of illness, injury, amputation or genetics, such as wigs and breast prostheses.

Both orthoses and prostheses can be standard products or can be tailor made for individual patients.
