Neptune Ward

Neptune is 39 bedded medical ward which specialises in treating adult male and female patients with gastro-intestinal conditions.

We have three Gastroenterologists that lead on our patients' medical care.  The majority of our admissions come from the Acute Assessment Unit with occasional admissions from home or clinics.

It is also common for our patients to be transferred to other wards or units for specialist care or rehabilitation.

Patients and visitors

To enable our patients to get the amount of rest they need to assist them in their recovery, we operate a strict policy for visiting.

Visiting outside these hours can be arranged at the discretion of the nurse in charge and will be dependent on both the wishes and condition of the patient.

For the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff we ask that you restrict visitors to two adults per bed and that children remain supervised at all times.

Our visiting times are 2.30pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm daily.

We have protected meal times from 7.30am-8.30am, 12pm-1pm and 5pm-6pm, so that it enables all staff to be available for assisting our patients.
