Because we are a Foundation Trust hospital, we are accountable to you, our users.
We want to hear your views on how you think our service is and what you would like to see in the future. By becoming a member, you will be invited to a variety of events, where you will get to meet your governors and various members of staff and learn about what we do here at the Trust and what we are planning in the future.
Members' views and interests are represented by the Council of Governors, who are a group of elected and nominated people. They challenge the Trust Board on their decisions, to ensure that you receive the best service.
The Council of Governors are keen to hear what you have to say about your experience of the Trust.
We will shortly be holding elections to the Council of Governors. If you are interested in becoming a governor please see the How to become a Governor page. Please see the Notice of Election.
We are part of the NHS and subject to NHS standards, performance ratings and systems of inspection. However Foundation Trusts are self-governing and directly accountable to local communities. All members of our local community are welcome to join the Trust as a Member.
Anyone who is over the age of 12 and is resident in our constituency areas can become a Member. Members of Staff are automatically made Members of the Trust on appointment (they can opt out if they wish).
