GWH calls on people to hit new heights with a charity abseil
Great Western Hospital is calling on local people to rise to the challenge and get involved in an adrenaline-fuelled abseil 90ft off the roof of the hospital on Saturday 17th September.
The charity abseil will raise money for the hospital for patient services, and those interested in pushing themselves that bit further are encouraged to get involved. The event is part of Great Western Hospital's bi-annual Open Day where there will be an exciting range of displays, stalls, family-fun activities, and behind-the-scenes tours allowing people to find out all about what happens at the hospital.
Harry Dale, Deputy Lead Governor at Great Western Hospital said: "We open up the hospital every two years to local people to see behind the scenes, find out more about what we do and of course have some fun at the same time. This year we are hoping it will be even bigger and better, and that people will come along to support their hospital and help us raise funds for patient services too."
"We hope we can get lots of people willing to take part in the abseil and raise money for GWH. It is a fantastic opportunity for people to really challenge themselves, and do something different with their Saturday. Every penny counts and will help make a difference to thousands of patients now and in the future."
All participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £100 to take part and a special prize will be given to the individual and team who raise the most money.
Anyone interested in taking part in the abseil should contact Rachael Lee on 01793 604431 for an entry form or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Places in the charity abseil are based on a first come, first served basis so get your entry form in as soon as possible to secure a place. More information on the abseil can be found on our Fundraising events page.
The Open Day takes place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 17th September and is free to attend. There is also free parking.
