Rookwood event shares Queen's birthday date

The Rookwood Garden and Gift Fair, which attracts hundreds of visitors every year, will be once again donating all its proceeds to the Radiotherapy Appeal.

This year's event, which includes over 50 stalls, cookery demonstrations, lectures and even a champagne breakfast in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday, is being held from 10am-4pm on Thursday 21 April at Rookwood House, Stockcross, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 8JX.

Entry to the fair is £5, with free car parking.

Charlotte Digby, who has lived at Rookwood for 25 years with her husband Rupert, was inspired to donate to the appeal after a friend began receiving treatment.

She said: "My housekeeper's daughter lived in Swindon and was receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer at Great Western Hospital, but had to travel all the way to Oxford for radiotherapy.

"I'll be donating all the proceeds from this year's fair to the appeal, so please come along and support this great cause."

Last year the event raised £18,000 for the appeal.
