Revamp of the Grapevine restaurant

Following feedback from staff and visitors, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Grapevine restaurant has made a series of major improvements to the quality of the food, service and opening times.

The restaurant opening times have been extended to 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday and may be extended further if there is a big enough demand. (Previously the restaurant was just open during the lunch period from 10am until 2pm).

As well as being a restaurant for staff, the Grapevine is open to visitors and local residents, who will be able to enjoy the new range of tasty meals on offer. A cooked breakfast will be available until 10.30am and lunch, from midday until 1.45pm, will include a selection of hot meals including pasta dishes, casseroles, curries, fish and chips and vegetarian options. Snacks will be available throughout the day including jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninis and salads.

Customers will have access to a free internet café and be able to watch the news and sport on a large screen TV.

Nerissa Vaughan, Chief Executive of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "I am really pleased with the improvements to the restaurant and I hope staff and visitors will come and try the new menu for themselves. We have listened to our customers and changes are based on what staff and local people have told us they want.

"I hope the restaurant becomes a focal point for the local community, as well as our staff, where customers can enjoy tasty and affordable food, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Whether you fancy a hot meal, snack or just want to stop by for a coffee, the restaurant is open to everyone."
