Parade through town may affect access to Warminster hospital and parking

On Friday 30th November there will be a Post-deployment Parade for the 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment, through Warminster Town, welcoming them home following their tour of Afghanistan.

This will mean some road closures in and around Warminster that morning and access to the hospital will be affected.

The parade commences at 10am but the B3414 into Warminster from the A36/A350 roundabout will remain closed until midday.

Access to Warminster Hospital that morning will have to be via the Westbury Road and Portway.

The parade will start in Station Road at 10am, go through  Market Place, High Street, George Street, Silver Street and Church Street and finish at the Minster Church at approx 10.40am  for a church service.  However, the B3414 from Sydenhams on Bath Road will remain closed until after the end of the church service.

It is expected that there will be many people going into the town to support the soldiers so parking will probably be difficult until the afternoon.

Patients with appointments at the hospital that day may need to consider their transport arrangements and plan extra time to get to their appointments.
