Mother and Baby Roadshow a fundraising success

Midwives and support staff are delighted to have raised nearly £4,000 from their recent fundraising roadshow to help raise money to refurbish the centre and provide a more homely environment for mothers and their babies.

The special 'Mother and Baby Roadshow' took place on Saturday 22nd September at a packed Neeld Hall in Chippenham.

The family event saw a host of stalls from local businesses, with everything from baby equipment, photography, crafts, to personal fitness, jewellery, nappies, and cakes. There was also special appearances from Peppa Pig and Gilbert Bear which attracted a lot of attention from visitors.

Meg Cooper, Midwife at Chippenham Birthing Centre said:

"The Mother and Baby Roadshow was extremely successful and we raised a total of £3,700 which is fantastic and more than we expected.  It was a brilliant day, the sun was shining and we had so many people turn up to support us.

It is definitely something we would like to host again and we are planning to make it an annual event.  It is a great way to give people a chance to find out more about our Birthing Centre and get involved with the local community.  The money raised will be going towards helping us refurbish the Birthing Centre and create a more homely, less clinical environment for mothers and their babies."

The staff would like to sincerely thank all the local companies who donated some fantastic raffle prizes, especially Bowood Hotel & Spa, Whatley Manor, Global Travel, and Clifton Photography; they also give their thanks to all the stall holders and members of the public for supporting them, The Friends of Chippenham Hospital for their on-going support, Biddestone & Hartham WI, Starbucks coffee and staff at the Neeld Hall for all their help.
