Care Quality inspection of Warminster Community hospital shows good standard of care

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have published a report on the standard of care provided at Warminster Community Hospital following an unannounced inspection of Longleat Ward in May.

The reports findings show that staff at Warminster Community Hospital are providing a high standard of care and are meeting all of the essential standards as set by the CQC.  These standards include respecting patients' human rights, privacy and dignity; involving patients in their care; providing the right food and drink to meet their needs; protecting patients from abuse and caring for patients in a clean environment.

During the inspection CQC staff spoke with patients to get their view on the services being provided, evidence of the positive experience many patients have when cared for at the hospital.  Feedback shows how attentive and supportive staff working on Longleat Ward are and how patients feel safe and well looked after during their stay.

Commenting on the report, Gill Withington, Ward Manager of Longleat Ward said: "We work hard to provide the best care possible to our patients and are pleased that this has been recognised in the results of the latest inspection.  We take inspections such as this seriously as it is important that local people have confidence in the quality of care being provided at their local hospital.  Wiltshire residents should therefore be assured by these results.

"The report shows the areas where we are doing very well and it is also a useful opportunity for us to reflect on any areas where we can do even better in the future.  I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Warminster Community Hospital in helping ensure we deliver the best for our patients."

Charles Lane, Chairman of the Friends of Warminster Hospital said: "We are delighted by the result of the recent CQC inspection, although, unlike the visit, this was not unexpected.  Many congratulations to Gill Withington for achieving this compliance."
